Training on Child rights and Child Protection at Servite Convent School, Hoshangabad

A training Session on child rights and Child protection was organised by Jeevodaya society of the Sisters of St.Joseph Chambery, on 17th August,2019 at Servite Convent school, Hoshangabad. During the training 110 participants inclusive of 90 students, staff and sisters of  Servite Convent were present. The main focus of the Capacity building program was to inform them about child rights, child protection mechanisms and related laws.

Sr.Clara Animootil shared her experiences in working with children at Itarsi Railway Station which lead her to establish Jeevodaya society in 1999. Jeevodaya reach out 30000 children and reunified 21000 children to reach back to their families. Jeevodaya society plays important role, in making positive impacts in the lives of children who are alone and at risk in Railway station. Sr. Supriya and Sr.Pramila from St. Joseph Sadan were present along with S. Clara for this program.

The Servite school community - Sisters, Staff, and Students made a half day visit to Jeevodaya boys and girls home.  Jeevodaya staff welcomed them and orientated about their functioning as Child Care Institution and gave them a tour of the place. The exposure visits were very informative and interactive. A short Cultural programme of dance and singing was held by Servite school students and children ofJeevodaya.  The beautiful short program explored their talents and abilities.They were emotionally moved motivated and inspired to do good works as a duty towards the development of society. The ServiteSchool also brought lots of  necessary items needed for the children and handed over to Jeevodaya. The program concluded with a tea party.
