The Cleanliness Drive at Itarsi

Wednesday, July 17, St. Joseph’s Convent School Itarsi has a philosophy geared toward enhancing the cleanliness of the city at Itarsi.To this end, and always seeking to obtain its objective, a group of 250 students and teachers along with their principal, Sr. Sandhya and the high officials of the citywith fullvigour and enthusiasm gathered at one of the main squares of the city to sensitise people about cleanliness.

It was a great experience watching students proudly walking with posters and banners in their hands, spreading the awareness and message about cleanliness. The students presented an inspiring Street Play on cleanliness alsoprojecting 3 Rs - Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, in the presence ofChief Municipal Officer, and Sub Division Magistrate of Itarsi. The Officials of the city appreciated the students and praised the Principal for having taken initiative to fulfil the dream of Gandhiji to make India No. 1 clean country. The shopkeepers were encouraged to use papers bags instead of polythene, as they were gifted paper bags, jute bags and clothbags by the students which were prepared by them in advance.Cleanliness is next to Godliness; we still have miles to go.
