In today’s context the media plays an important and vital role in the life of every individual. The digital technology goes beyond our understanding of communication. And we know that we are far behind in the use technology and media. Knowing this the provincial superior Sr. Maurice George along with Sr. Navya Neelam the Coordinator of ICC decided to have a media training for the province of Pachmarhi. The sisters who are incharge of communicaiton in various regions were invited to participate in this training programme from 22 to 25 October at Amala Institute, Jehangirabad, Bhopal staying with the local community of sisters.
Sr. Maurice took the sessions on Media Education covering Media Awareness, Types of Media, Aims of Mass Media, News Paper Analysis, Journalism, Editing etc. Each of the topics were explained well followed by the writing exercises.
Sr. Navya taught different skills of communication such as Mobile Photography, Designing and Editing using Canva, Photoshop, Page layout and Graphic designing in InDesign, Videography and Live streaming.
The festival of Diwali, (the festival of lights) celebrated on the 24th energized and enthused us. We joined the rest of the nation by lighting lamps and celebrating. I have learnt about mass media and communication and am extremely happy for coming over for this training programme. I go back enriched and enlightened with the knowledge and skill received during this training programme.
