My First Day at School as a Nun Teacher

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6) My first day at school as a nun teacher was one of the most significant, unforgettable, and
memorable experiences of my life. It was the beginning of a new journey. On 16th June 2026, I began my teaching ministry at St. Joseph's Convent Hr. Sec. School, Khandwa. I was so excited and happy, but at the same time, I was a little nervous because
everything was new to me. Before entering the school, I prayed to God to guide me and give me the wisdom to be a good teacher. The day began with the morning assembly at 7:45 a.m.

As I entered the school, I was warmly welcomed by the teachers with their beautiful smiles. I met 32 teachers that day, and their
kindness and the cheerful atmosphere made me feel comfortable and confident. As I entered Class 2nd ‘A’ as the class teacher, there were 36 students present on my first day. It was a joyful moment for me because they looked at me with smiling faces and curious eyes, eager to know my name. As I introduced myself, I invited them to introduce themselves as well.

It was a day of laughter and happiness because I wanted every child to feel loved, safe, and happy in the classroom. The day taught me that teaching is not only about completing the syllabus, but it is also about encouraging and guiding children. I realised that children are blessings, and I feel so privileged to be with them because, by being with them, I am also growing and learning every day I thank God for this wonderful opportunity to be a teacher, as well as to acquire knowledge and impart it to the children for their all-round growth. This also gives me the opportunity to interact with their parents and guide them. My first day at St. Joseph Convent Hr. Sec. School, Khandwa, will always remain a cherished memory in my heart.
