There are times in life when we think we know where we are going. We make our plans, carry our little hopes, and look forward to what is coming. But sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, and suddenly we find ourselves asking, ‘Lord, why me?’
I had such a moment in my journey. There were many feelings within me—hope, disappointment, questions, and a little fear of what lay ahead. I did not always know how to accept what was happening, but I tried to bring everything to prayer. Some days I could pray with peace. On other days, I sat quietly with all my questions before God. I slowly realized that I did not need to carry everything by myself.
Along the way, I also faced many challenges within myself, especially with my emotions. There were moments when I did not know whether to express what I was feeling or simply remain silent. Sometimes I felt confused about what to do or how to respond. But slowly, I began to see that even these struggles were teaching me something. They were making me more humble, teaching me patience, and helping me understand that I do not always have to react immediately. I can pause, pray, and allow God to work in me.
These experiences have taught me to rise again whenever I feel weak or discouraged. Mary, my quiet companion, reminds me that faith does not mean having everything figured out; it means continuing to walk with trust. And so, I am learning to rise each day, to begin again, and to stand courageously as a soldier of Christ—not because I am strong on my own, but because His grace gives me the strength to take the next step.
I became aware of a quiet companion who is with me always—a guide, a mother who knew what it meant to walk without having all the answers. There were moments when I could not express what I was feeling to anyone. I simply remained quiet. I turned to Mary, who gently brought people into my life who became, at that time, a source of guidance, comfort, and support.
Though I was afraid to share what I was really feeling, Mother Mary gave me the courage to share, to speak, and to listen. She quietly helped me see God shaping and moulding my life to be a vessel useful in His hands.
God did not remove my challenges; He helped me carry them in peace. He reminded me that I do not have to understand the whole journey, but that I have to simply trust God’s ways.
These experiences have made me stronger and increased my faith. I am still learning, still becoming, and still trying to walk on the path that leads me to witness Christ. I may not know what tomorrow will bring, but I know that I have God in my life, and I am blessed.
