EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR

The Nagpur Province Education Commission -Sr. Rose Mondoth (Coordinator), Sr. Olinda Fernandes (Asst. Coordinator), Sr. Ritika Michael (Secretary) organized a one-day enriching Educational seminar for the Sisters of the Nagpur province engaged in the Education Ministry. 30 Sisters from the Province gathered with zeal and enthusiasm for this meaningful and enriching seminar of learning and reflection.

The Seminar was graced by two eminent resource persons of Nagpur: Rev. Fr. Joseph Koovely (Pallottine priest), and Rev. Fr. Prashant (Diocesan priest), who shared their expertise and experience in the field of education.

The first session, conducted by Rev. Fr. Joseph Koovely, focused on transformational leadership in schools. He highlighted the importance of clarity of vision, consistency in values, teamwork, and reflective leadership. Emphasizing that leadership is rooted in service and responsibility, he presented the five pillars of focused school leadership: vision and direction, staff and school culture, quality teaching, technological updates, consistency over intensity, and continuous growth. His session inspired the Sisters to cultivate balance, discipline, and compassion in educational leadership.

The second session was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Prashant on Indian Constitution and Legal Foundations – The Article 30(1), highlighting the right of minorities to establish and administer educational institutions. He also addressed key contemporary educational themes such as RTE and minority schools, NEP 2020 reforms, mother tongue instruction, competency-based assessment, holistic progress cards, life skills education, and teacher recruitment policies.

This was followed by group discussions, providing an interactive platform for reflection on current challenges in education and ways to remain updated in a rapidly changing educational landscape in today’s digital world. The discussions encouraged open sharing, collaboration, and collective learning among the Sisters.

The Seminar proved to be enriching and empowering, equipping the Sisters with deeper insights into leadership, educational policies, and legal frameworks essential for their ministry.
