JOURNEYING TOGETHER IN HOPE AS PILGRIMS, CELEBRATING OUR DIFFERENCE

JOURNEYING TOGETHER IN HOPE

AS PILGRIMS, CELEBRATING OUR DIFFERENCE
The thought that each of us is on a journey fills me with excitement. That excitement grows when I realize we are journeying together—in hope—as pilgrims. This is not a solitary trek toward a distant summit, but a shared pilgrimage across the vast and varied landscape of human experience.
The path is rarely straight, and the terrain often challenging, shaped by diverse cultures and languages. Yet we are united by a common condition: we are pilgrims seeking meaning, connection, and a horizon illuminated by hope. It is in recognizing and celebrating our differences that this shared journey finds its deepest strength and beauty.
In today’s world, fractured by hatred and division, we—the consecrated—are called to be pilgrims of hope, modelling a different reality. Our communities and apostolates draw us together from varied cultures, families, states, and temperaments. These differences are not obstacles to uniformity but gifts to be cherished.
As pilgrims, we are called to truly accept one another as gifts from God. This means moving beyond ourselves, taking that extra step—MAGIS, as our Founder Fr. Medaille reminds us—by creating spaces where diverse expressions of love, service, and prayer enrich one another. It requires humility to learn from the goodness of others and courage to be challenged and transformed.
We live our pilgrimage of hope concretely by:
  • Rooting our lives in Christ through our vows.
In Poverty, we hope in His Providence. In Chastity, we hope in the boundless love of God.
In Obedience, we hope in His plan and will for us.
  • Walking with humility
We are called to journey not alone, but especially with those on the margins.By listening to
their hopes and wounds, we offer a greater hope—a presence that says, “You are not alone;
God is with us.”
  • Building bridges, not walls
In our communities, apostolates, and collaborations, we are called to build bridges of
dialogue and reconciliation. We become persons of peace, showing that unity in Christ is
deeper than any human division.
The consecrated life, lived as pilgrims of hope, becomes a powerful sign and witness of Christ in our time. It proclaims that joy is greater when we journey together, celebrating our differences as gifts of grace.
