Mahatma Gandhi rightly quoted, “Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.”
This year India completed 75 glorious years of independence. The entire nation celebrated as ‘Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi initiated a campaign this year, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement from 13th August to 15th August in which everyone had to hoist Tiranga in their homes. Our school St Joseph’s Convent Hr Sec School too actively participated in the 75th year’s celebration.
The NCC cadets of our school along with A.N.O, distributed 50 national flags to 50 households in the school’s neighborhood. The NCC also actively participated in the 2 km long Indian flag march organised on the occasion of ‘Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ that covered the distance of 5 km across the town on 13th August 2022. Some had gone for a cyclothone rally on the same day.
On a solemn day, 15th August we had the flag hoisting at 7:30 a.m. by our honorable Chief Guest Colonel PD Gyatso, A.O 5th Bn. Despite heavy rain, the students, the NCC cadets and the teachers came for the Independence day celebration. As usual prior to the celebration patriotic singing and dancing competitions were held. House wise various programmes were arranged based on the current themes. The honorable Chief Guest Colonel PD Gyatso gave an inspiring speech that motivated the students of our school. His experience during the Kargil war touched the hearts of our students, specially the NCC cadets.
